Bachelor in Hotel Management (BHM)

In this programme, the learner will learn all the departmental operations in the Hotel Industry.

Eligibility: 12th pass / BAP (6 Months Basic preparatory course for those students who have not Qualified 10th & are above 18 years old).

Those students who have done one year diploma in Hotel Management from UOU are eligible for admission in B.Sc.2nd year if they would like to continue in the B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration course from UOU, as the course structure for both the Diploma and the B.Sc.1st year is the same.

Those students who have done one year or more duration of Diploma in Hotel Management/Hotel Administration/ Hospitality studies recognized by NCHMCT or approved Government statutory body are eligible for direct admission in B.Sc.2nd yr. of UOU (subject to the recognition of the course structure of the diploma by the University and the equivalence of the course of UOU).

Those students who have done their three years diploma in Hotel Management/ Hotel Administration/ Hospitality studies recognized by NCHMCT or approved by the Government statutory body are eligible for direct admission in Bachelor of Hotel Management 3rd yr. of UOU and get Bachelor’s Degree. Such students need not do the Industrial training again as they have already done it during the Three years Diploma (They just have to present the earlier training certificate.)

The BOS also suggested that the three years diploma holders of AHLEI (American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute) are eligible for direct admission in Bachelor of Hotel Management 3rd yr. of UOU and get Bachelor Degree, and suggested that such courses may be entertained subject to the recognition of the course structure of these diplomas by the University equivalence committee. Such students need not do the Industrial training again as they have already done it during the Three years Diploma (They just have to present the earlier training certificate.)

All working professionals who have not completed 10th and attain the age of 18 years can clear the BAP (Basic Preparatory) programme of six months of UOU and can get admission in Diploma / Bachelor Degree course of UOU (such candidates need not go for extra 6 months training and can submit a copy of their 6 months training/work experience in Hotel/Industry/ Restaurants / relevant Industry and get their diploma after 2nd semester / 1 yr. on submitting their project and 6 months job/training certificate.

All working professionals who have done 10+2 in any stream, and wish to get enrolled in Hotel Management Diploma / Bachelors in Hotel Management programme can get direct admission and submit their training/work experience in Hotel/Industry/ Restaurants and get their diploma after 2nd semester / 1 yr. on submitting their project and 6 months job/training certificate.
